5 Best Thriller Novels You Will Fall in Love With

Time to discuss scary freaks from some of the best thriller novels I’ve read so far.

I like serial killers, psychological creepy stories, murder mysteries, and everything in between. Maybe heists too.

So I’ve prepared a list of page-turner thrillers that will drop your jaw to the ground and might ruin your sleep. So, read with caution. Do read though because you are going to enjoy it.

As a reader, we all hate the underwhelming climax, right? That’s why I’m here to take you out of that misery by sharing my favorite thrillers with satisfying endings.

Y’all ready?

Best Thriller Novels With Absolutely Satisfying endings

The Girl Who Lived

This book deserves a lot more attention than it already has. That’s why I am here to convince you to read it. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s a story about a girl who survived a brutal mass murder. Faith Winters is the girl who lived all those years ago when her father, her sister, and her best friend got killed by a man. Faith saw the murderer but not clearly. She calls him ‘Ratface’.

Now, maybe she was too terrified to recognize the murderer, or maybe she actually saw something. Police, however, closed the case as a tripple murder-suicide and put Faith’s father as the criminal. Because no other man was there, apart from her father.

Faith is pretty convinced she saw someone who, for sure, wasn’t her father. The problem is, Faith is not a reliable witness. A psychiatric hospital returnee and an alcoholic, nobody wants to trust Faith.

After her treatment in a psychiatric hospital, Faith is back in the same town where the mass-killing took place. Now her life could be in danger or she could be hallucinating it all.

You never know until the end. It’s a fast-paced, adrenaline-rushing story. I recommend reading it during nighttime for an extra thrill.

The Girl on The Train

You might have already read it (If not please do), or seen the movie (hopefully not before reading the book). It’s one of the most popular thriller novels of all time that blew people’s mind.

This is a story of three girls. Rachel, Megan, and Anna. Rachel takes a train to London every day for work. She sees the same people inside and outside the train. The train takes a halt at a specific signal every day near the lane of houses.

Rachel has a habit to observe the couple living in one of those houses whom she refers to as ‘Jase and Jason’. In the same neighborhood, lives someone else whom Rachel knows for a long time.

One day, while her way to London, Rachel sees something shocking from the train about Jase which changes everything. Rachel couldn’t stop herself from becoming a part of Jase’s life. And then slowly, Rachel finds out the truth behind the shocking incident.

It’s a murder mystery and to be honest, you will reveal the suspense yourself after reading around 70% of the book. But it’s amazing. The story is really different.

A perfect thriller novel for train journeys.

Follow You Home

Mark Edwards’s books are amazingly creepy. I’ve read three so far and I have recognized his story pattern. His books made me so anxious that I decided to skip everything and just finish the damn story. And I was never disappointed.

In Follow You Home, Daniel and Laura go on a long trip before getting married and settling down. The trip was supposed to be fun and adventurous. But something goes terribly wrong. They get thrown out of the train in the middle of the night near the forest. What happens to them in the forest, into the woods follow and haunt them back at home.

Daniel and Laura’s life changes upside down after the incident in the woods. Both of them never talk about it until they start observing weird things happening to them back home.

The first half of the novel had a spice of horror and the rest half was thriller crime unfolding the story. I was terrified and equally thrilled to find out the truth. Mark has described every element of the story in a way that would make you worried and excited at the same time.

The story has more surprises at the climax and that’s what blows your mind.

Mark’s other two books that I’ve read are- Here To Stay (Pretty Freaked Up) and In Her Shadow (blend of horror and mystery). I’d recommend reading these in the night for a bit of extra thrill (at your own risk though).

The Night Stalker

Brilliantly written serial killer book. Two stories go parallelly and you pretty much know everything except the whys and hows of it.

The Night Stalker comes under the ‘Erika Foster’ series by Robert Bryndza. On the murder scene, Erika sees a man suffocated to death by a special suicide bag. Erika and her team starts investigating the murder of a man when another case pops up. Similar murder, using the suicide bag. Clearly, a serial killer is stalking the victims at night and killing them.

Erika has to face a lot of ups and downs during the case. But eventually, she reaches the conclusion.

The night stalker has an unusual motive to kill people and is very careful in committing the crime. But killers always leave some sort of evidence and that’s how Erika gets to the night stalker.

You will know the murderer before Erika. It’s no suspense as the murderer has its own story and reasons. I didn’t read any other books from the series. But the cases are standalone. I am a fan of FBI agents solving cases, and naturally, I love Erika. If you like murder investigations, you should definitely get this book.

I Hope You’re Listening

I found this YA Thriller on Spotify. The Audiobook has good quality and the story is, obviously, great.

Honestly, I started this book without really giving it a thought and soon found it captivating.

It’s a story of a 17-year-old girl, Delia, who is known as the Girl who wasn’t taken. When she was 7, her best friend Sibby was abducted in front of her and little Delia couldn’t do much about it.

Now she’s The Seeker, the secret host of a popular crime podcast where laptop detectives solve crimes together.

Delia doesn’t want to reveal her identity, but when another small girl from her neighborhood goes missing, she is determined to find what happened to the girl and her best friend Sibby.

Delia’s podcast comes under the top 11 true crime podcasts, and her listeners help her decode cases that even police couldn’t solve.

Teens putting their life in danger, making decisions that elders won’t approve, makes this whole book a lot more interesting.

It’s pretty cool. I’d definitely recommend the audiobook.
